Nissan SR20 Red Top

(Author: Whitey)

Well i started my 240 project on August 28th when i picked up my 93 240sx SE Automatic from a dealership in NJ. Picked up the car on ebay for 2k. So in the past few months i have been busy running around gathering up parts and doing little stuff to eventually accomplish the big stuff.

First thing I did was upgrade the car to become a lil more handling friendly. Purchased Energy suspension Bushing kit from Sumitt, new ball joints and new tie rods.

had it for a week and already started to tear it apart!

comparison of stock vs Energy

the rigged press... oh man was this fun and dangerous at the same time

Had some down time so Jeff did some boxing!

So i went for a month daily driving the auto 240 and just getting all the kinks out of the day to day stuff. In october it was time to pull the stock engine, buy the sr20 and then install... lots of work in just one month

Bye Bye KA24DE

oh noes!

The KA gets a thumbs down!! boooo KA

oh noes!

a few days later... the sr swap would be here! yay!

Everything all masked off

Stock Rad vs Koyo Rad... um yeah

me doing some die grinding on the intake we made

some helpers on the 240, TwoFortySX even made the long trip to the shop to lend a hand

ewwww.. can't wait to do the body work

oh noes! i got 3 pedals now!

Move TwoFortySX

The complete running engine, still need to clean up some wiring and mount a real overflow bottle

yummy oil pan!

Jay hooked it up with a few dyno pulls last night, and here is what it did. The lower number was a test to see how the SS Autochome added baffle would kill HP. needless to say, don't use it

so thats where i am at, almost every day after work and then on the weekends me and Jeff have been working on it for the past month.

so there ya go, no real big secret. just another 240, building it for myself probably not going to go one way or the other. drifting does not really interest me, and drag is just something i don't have the money for right now. just building a fun street car.

body work and paint come next, probably start that in a few weeks.
